Privacy policy

Who we are

MISE EN AI is run by Mise en AI, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use MISE EN AI at miseenai.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: williamsedgwick@miseenai.com.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, and a hash of your password (never the password itself). If you turn on two-step login, the secret for your authenticator app is stored encrypted.
• Your business data: what you or your team enter, upload or connect, such as locations, menus, recipes, sales, invoices and other documents, inventory counts, waste, labor hours and wages, bank statement lines, and accounting records.
• Data from services you connect: when you connect a point-of-sale or accounting system (for example Square, QuickBooks Online or Xero), we receive the data that connection allows, such as sales, catalog items, and your chart of accounts. The access tokens for those connections are stored encrypted.
• Security and usage records: the IP address and browser of each session, sign-in attempts, and a log of important actions in your organization.
• Cookies: we use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect sign-ins to connected services. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use it

• To run MISE EN AI for you: calculations, reports, forecasts and alerts.
• To read the documents you upload and answer the questions you ask, using AI.
• To send the emails the service needs, such as sign-in links and alerts you choose.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your business data, and we do not use it for advertising. Data from connected services, including QuickBooks, is used only to provide MISE EN AI to you.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers to run MISE EN AI. Each receives only what its job needs:

• Vercel hosts the application (United States).
• Neon hosts the database.
• Resend sends email, and receives invoices emailed to your organization’s address if you turn that on.
• Anthropic provides the AI that reads invoices and statements and answers questions. It receives the document or question and the figures needed to answer it.
• Open-Meteo provides weather for forecasts. It receives only your locations’ approximate coordinates.
• Services you choose to connect, such as Square, Intuit QuickBooks and Xero, receive what you send to them.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a buyer of our business, who would remain bound by this policy.

How we protect it

Connections use HTTPS. Each organization’s data is kept separate by row-level security in the database. Passwords are hashed, and tokens for connected services and two-step login secrets are encrypted. Only people you invite to your organization can see its data, with the permissions you give them.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account or organization, we delete its data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law. Demo organizations created with “Try the demo” are deleted automatically after 12 hours.

Your choices and rights

• You can see and correct most of your information in the app.
• You can choose which emails you receive from your account settings.
• You can disconnect a connected service at any time.
• To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, email williamsedgwick@miseenai.com. We answer within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. We honor them when they apply.

Children

MISE EN AI is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and tell account owners by email before a significant change takes effect.
